“STHAPATI Architects’ design for the SJVN office redefines the modern workspace by  adapting aesthetics and cultural richness, creating a vibrant environment that inspires and evolves with the needs of the workforce.”

STHAPATI Architects + Interiors has designed an innovative, future-ready workspace for SJVN in Delhi, setting a new standard for modern office environments. Located in the heart of the city’s newest CBD, the 3636-square-meter office spans three interconnected floors, thoughtfully crafted to reflect contemporary workstyles while seamlessly blending with its urban surroundings.

The design embodies adaptability and collaboration, critical principles of 21st-century workplace design. The layout is centred around a central core, promoting fluid movement and employee interaction. The reception, boardroom, and multi-purpose hall are strategically placed to offer panoramic views of the upscale South Extension neighbourhood. Rich materials like wood, marble from Rajasthan, and patterned finishes create a warm, inviting atmosphere, while the open layout fosters a dynamic and collaborative work environment.

With an average daily operation of 18 hours, the workspace is designed to invigorate and inspire, moving away from the monotony of traditional office settings. Sensor-based lighting systems enhance the environment’s dynamism, ensuring the space remains bright and welcoming throughout the day. Furniture choices, including real wood meeting tables and vibrant, patterned carpets, contribute to the office’s cohesive and visually appealing narrative.

Colour psychology and ergonomic principles are crucial in the design, prioritising comfort and well-being. Ergonomically designed chairs with recycled leather content and low-dust retention carpets enhance sustainability and ease of maintenance, ensuring the space remains functional and comfortable despite heavy use. The higher dignitary wing celebrates India’s rich cultural heritage with ethnic art, featuring styles like Madhubani, Warli, Kangra, and Kalankari, reflecting the craftsmanship of regions such as Himachal, Nepal, Bhutan, and Uttarakhand. This focus on comfort and well-being reassures the workforce that their needs are top priorities.

The SJVN office stands as a blueprint for the future of workplace design, emphasising adaptability, innovation, and sustainability. It is a testament to the transformative power of thoughtful architecture, creating spaces that inspire, innovate, and adapt to the evolving needs of the modern workforce. This forward-thinking approach to design will inspire optimism about the future of workspaces.
