“Serenity Ridge” offers tranquil modern living
“Serenity Ridge is designed to offer a peaceful retreat while staying in harmony with nature, reflecting our commitment to creating modern spaces that effortlessly interact with their surroundings.”—–Siddhina Sakla, Founder, The Arch Studio.
“Serenity Ridge” is a 1500-square-foot duplex designed by Ar. Siddhina Sakla of The Arch Studio, Pune and located in the calm hills of Pirangut, Pune. It is an ideal combination of contemporary style and natural beauty. The property, designed as a weekend retreat, offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city, providing a calm break from the hustle and bustle of city life.
The client envisioned a little area that was intimately connected to nature. The major goal was to design a home that encouraged connection between its people and the surroundings. The design takes a simple, modern approach, with natural light flooding the interiors to strengthen the connection to the outdoors. Soft textures and a double-height ceiling create a sense of openness and peace, while minimum artificial ceilings guarantee a smooth transition between the inside and the views beyond.
An earthy palette and natural materials create an appealing ambience for visitors entering the duplex. A brick wall serves as a cane console and mirror backdrop, adding to the space’s rustic beauty. Printed tiles and ambient natural light contribute to the foyer’s warm and welcoming feel.
The living room continues incorporating natural materials such as rattan and cane into the furniture, pendant lighting, and wall decor. A bold mustard yellow accent through woven rugs and printed florals brightens the otherwise earthy tones. Grey fluted battens on the walls create a zen-like backdrop, enhanced with plants and minimalist furnishings.
The dining space is designed with a rustic wood table and chairs against a grey backdrop and adorned with tropical paintings that offer warmth and vibrancy. This warm, comfortable environment is ideal for family gatherings, combining functionality and comfort. A reading den, complete with a custom bookcase with angular dividers, provides a peaceful escape for relaxation.
Each of the three bedrooms has its flavour. The master bedroom is minimalist with white walls, neutral tones, and a rich mahogany four-poster bed. Still, the second bedroom is bohemian, with a blush pink arching headboard and rustic cane furnishings.
