Mayuralaya, peacock-inspired art deco home
“This art deco home is a blend of elegance and purpose, crafted to enhance daily life.” —-Ar. Tushar Mistry, Principal Architect and Designer, Tushar Mistry Design Studio.
The design process for this home began with a peacock feather, provided as a brief by the client, a young couple who desired a home where they could make lifelong memories with their children. As Tushar Mistry Design Studio constantly strives to design spaces that are useful and improve the quality of life of their occupants, the team chose to develop a perfect blend of aesthetics and functionality that provides harmony to the area.
Inspired by the art deco style, Ar. Tushar Mistry attempted to give each part of the house a unique and individualised touch. Tushar, to whom art is not just a luxury but rather a necessity, executed every design feature of this stunning home perfectly and artistically.
Tushar’s free hand in creating this residence reflects the client’s trust in the team, which made their task more intriguing as they pushed the envelope to justify it. From concept to design, the team worked tirelessly to find and purchase the best materials and finishes to provide customisation and individuality to the chosen art deco criteria. The hues of the walls, furnishings, and décor are carefully chosen to suit the overall appearance and feel of the home.
Lighting, furniture, children’s wardrobes and beds made from actual Mercedes automobile parts, and the bathrooms are all finely crafted. This project is more than simply a house; it is the pinnacle of surreal visual language, striking a delicate balance between usefulness and beauty.
