The global A&D community is reconnecting with one another while also considering how architecture responds to the postpandemic industry.
LIXIL, a pioneering manufacturer of water and housing products through its GROHE power brand, is proud to support the World Architecture Festival 2022(WAF) and celebrate industry excellence in Lisbon, Portugal.
The World Architecture Festival(WAF) is the world’s largest meeting and celebration of the industry’s premier architects and designers (A&D), thought leadership, and renowned prizes.
This year’s festival theme, “Together,” marks the first in-person WAF after a three year break. The global A&D community is reconnecting with one another while also considering how architecture responds to the renewal of collective life post-pandemic and in light of pledges to tackle climate change. This year’s festival drew over 1,500 attendees and over 800 entries for the WAF and INSIDE prizes. China (6), Australia (6), India (1), and New Zealand (1) lead the 43category winners from Asia and Australasia (1).
GROHE has been a supporter off since its beginning in 2008.GROHE, a leading global brand for full bathroom solutions and kitchen fittings, represents the distinctive role water plays in the design discipline as a founding partner and helps build creative architectural concepts and solutions centred on the element of water. The online GROHEX platform will also delve deeper into beautiful design, revolutionary sustainability, and everything trendy with anew People, Places, and Events series starring top A&Ds, which captures pure experience and emotions in and around WAF2022.
“As lifelong supporters off, LIXIL and GROHE are glad to extend our heartfelt congratulations to all WAF award winners and short listed candidates,” said Satoshi Konagai, Leader, LIXIL Water Technology, Asia Pacific. “Over the past two years, we used the GROHE X digital platform to feature the WAF and INSIDE programmes, award winners’ announcements, and over 500 on-demand category finalist presentations.” “This year, we are naturally delighted to reconnect in person with the A&D community and also support WAF digitally on the GROHE X platform for those unable to attend.”
“Next year’s WAF will be held in Singapore, and we are eager to extend the involvement and representation of brilliant Asia Pacific architects and designers at WAF.” The Asia Pacific area is rapidly transitioning to a post-pandemic environment. Consumers are responding to trends in health and well-being, sustainability, and urbanisation by rising demand for multifunctional living, working, and resting spaces.
“Lixil is collaborating closely with the A&D community to create customer experiences in the bathroom and kitchen that are both sustainable and add value to the home,” Konagai noted.
