Infinite Threads is a compelling multi-generational family house that blends tradition and modernity while celebrating Indian culture. This tenement, designed for a family of five, naturally captures the essence of three generations while embracing a modern Indian style that is both visually outstanding and emotionally moving. By combining colours, craftsmanship, and personalisation, it creates a rich tapestry of beauty and legacy.
The colour palette, inspired by rich Indian hues, adds loads of excitement to the otherwise neutral environment. Deep terracotta reds, regal marigold yellows, and soothing indigo blues honour India’s rich heritage, creating a connection that blends the past, present, and future.
Upon entering, the wooden ceiling, influenced by S.H. Raza’s designs connect the living and dining areas. The grooves and lines in the wooden ceiling echo the geometric shapes found throughout Raza’s artwork, producing visual continuity and a vibe of rhythm.
The sofas are designed with conventional finger joints in salvaged wood. The centre table, built with the Sankheda wood-turning craft and native Abu black stone, is a stunning reflection of how traditional craftsmanship and modern aesthetics can coexist.
This similar language is emphasised in the dining table, where an Ambaji marble inlay showing the moon in the night sky enhances the overall narrative of the room. The sliding door to the staircase best exemplifies the combination of art and efficiency.
Adorned with Sanjhi, the intricate Lucknow paper-cut art, skilfully made and housed between two glass panels, converts the stairway into a gallery-like pathway. Natural light illuminates the intricate designs, creating intriguing interplays of light and shadow, mesmerising all who pass through.
Every room resonates with its occupants, perfectly designed to capture their distinct personalities and desires. The master bedroom, a tranquil oasis with soothing pastels, presents a relaxed mood.
The common activity room is vibrant, with striking Athangudi tile patterns, bright colours, and interactive components that encourage creativity and imagination. From the timeless elegance of the grandparents’ room to the shared spaces that promote community, every space is an intricate symphony of colours and shapes woven together to create a beautiful whole.
