A seamless blend of materials and design
“Our approach was to design a tactile, grounded space that complemented nature while emphasising refined craftsmanship and timeless aesthetics.” — Kiran Gala & Associates.
House IX expertly blends sustainable elements with refined luxury to create an environment that is sophisticated and effortlessly inviting. Designed as an entertainment space, it includes a master suite and a guest bedroom and is tailored to the clients’ vision of a tactile, grounded aesthetic that differs from their primary residence.

Kiran Gala & Associates’ signature approach is evident in the careful juxtaposition of materials that evolve gracefully over time. The design goes beyond a strictly rustic language by incorporating carefully curated artwork and accessories, enriched by striking blue and rust accents, giving the interiors a dynamic yet elegant character. Intricate ceiling details and an efficiently integrated air conditioning system further enhance the space’s elegant sophistication.
The open-plan living and dining area greets you warmly, framed by lush green views from the balcony. The dining area subtly highlights a Smeg refrigerator, a deliberate focal point within a custom credenza designed to match its shape and colour. A discreetly placed kitchenette and storage room adjoin this space, leading to the master suite. The master bedroom has a large walk-in closet that leads to an en-suite bathroom. It also has a private balcony.

The material palette combines taupe stucco walls, beige veneer, and grey flooring tiles to create a sophisticated, monochromatic base that unifies the entire design. Warm wooden flooring in the master suite complements travertine marble accents and fluted panelling, adding to the space’s understated opulence. The guest bedroom introduces a subtle variation with striped wallpaper, adding depth while maintaining the overall tone balance. Throughout the home, carefully considered colour interventions bring life to the earthy tones, while delicate brass detailing adds a touch of quiet sophistication.
The dining table is a striking example of sustainability, made from repurposed materials salvaged from the site. This bespoke piece, made of meticulously assembled marble remnants and fluted veneer legs, exemplifies the project’s commitment to sustainable resource use without sacrificing elegance.

House IX represents an exquisite blend of functionality and aesthetic refinement. Its meticulously curated materiality and design narrative honour timeless elegance, sustainability, and a harmonious living experience, reflecting thoughtful contemporary craftsmanship.
