Notorious is a stunning architectural and interior design marvel that graces the city of Jalandhar. This 12,000-sq. ft. rooftop resto bar and speakeasy exemplify a harmonious medley of botanical aesthetics, pastel elegance, and timeless craftsmanship, providing an immersive experience unlike any other.
Although new to the hospitality industry, this project is particularly special to the client, who approached it with unmatched enthusiasm. The brief was exciting and challenging: combining two opposing worlds into a unified place. Notorious perfectly blends an outdoor tropical oasis brimming with greenery and brilliant colours, and a dark and hidden speakeasy, resulting in a harmonious contrast of opposites.
As you ascend to the open rooftop, a fairy-tale paradise inspired by greenhouses and elegant cabanas emerges. Pastel colours dominate the space, conveying refinement and providing a welcoming atmosphere. Long lounging seats decorated with highlighters, granite tables with complex groove features, and strong rustic pastel tableware set the tone for a visual feast.
The core of Notorious is its three separate cabanas, surrounded by gorgeous landscapes, vertical gardens, and quiet water bodies. A private dining space and an open-air bar with arched arches and brass shelf features punctuate the cabana’s spatial flow. A brass skylight atop the bar casts soft lighting over the area. These rooms are connected by pathways with jute fabric shading overhead, allowing for easy movement and a serene retreat.
Metal elements bring architectural aspects to life, while the hut-shaped cabanas with glass cutouts let natural light in. Notorious transforms into a beautiful marvel with flowery allure in every corner.
The speakeasy is located on the opposite end, quietly hidden behind a cunning artwork-framed door—a stunning shift in atmosphere where the dark allure of the past meets contemporary refinement. It is dark and gloomy but refined with brass finishes, handcrafted tiles, marble inlay flooring, and meticulous embellishments. The vaulted ceilings with linear tube lighting add a sense of grandeur, while the velvety tan leather sofas and patterned green upholstery chairs provide a luxury seating experience.
